North Carolina State guard Terquavion Smith was released from the hospital after X-rays were negative following a frightening fall on the court in Saturday's game at North Carolina, the university said.
Smith, who leads the Atlantic Coast Conference in scoring at 18.7 points per game, was listed as day-to-day. The school's statement said Smith reported neck and elbow pain and had numbness in his right arm.
The sophomore was taken off the court on a stretcher and transported to UNC Medical Center after he hit the court hard when he was fouled by the Tar Heels' Leaky Black. Black was charged with a flagrant-2 foul and ejected.
Smith scored 12 points before the incident, which occurred midway through the second half of North Carolina's 80-69 win.
The Wolfpack will host Notre Dame on Tuesday in ACC play in Raleigh, N.C.
